Looking for Collaborators


Construct 3 Devs & Aspiring Pixel Artists

Hey guys! I'm making this blog post as an announcement that Cairo Creative Studios LLC is looking for collaborators for Byte Sized Runners. We are in need of a couple extra hands on deck. This is not a the kind of job you will have to fill out an application for, you just show us your portfolio, we negotiate your royalties from the game, then we get cracking. Leading up to the game's completion, you will receive a negotiated percentage of gross revenue. 

Game Demonstrations


Construct 3 Dev Responsibilities

  • Join our Agile Task Board to take on development of a specific feature
  • Collaborate in your own Branch on Github to develop your feature, then it is merged to the master branch
  • Features that may need worked on: Armor Suit Behavior, The Shop Screen/Currency, Inventory, ChatGPT Text Translation (addon present, just needs to translate all the text in the game)
  • The Lead's (my) responsibilities, the Level Editor, Scene and Dialogue Systems, managing the our documentation and agile workflow, character/enemy pixel art

Pixel Artist Responsibilities

  • Join our Agile Task Board to take on creation of specific pixel art assets.
  • Follow the guidelines for fitting the artwork properly into the game. The rules for this are mostly simple, but the guide will include information about constructing 9-Patch pixel art for resizable objects in the Editor.
  • Mostly tilesets and backgrounds, by either creating your own, or working from assets already own by Cairo Creative Studios. 
  • We will share our library of pixel art assets with you when you join. They do belong to Cairo Creative Studios, though, this does not permit the use of them outside this role. You will have to purchase the assets yourself to use in outside projects.

What is Byte Sized Runners?

Byte Sized Runners is an infinite running, MegaMan-like mobile game. It's designed to mimic the feel of the MegaMan games in functionality, while having simplified interaction with touch controls. It's unique in it's actual control, and all armors in the game control slightly differently, but overall there is typically only one or two different controls the player can use. The basic control is Jump and Attack, but some armors attack anywhere on the screen by swimming around or using a grappling hook that brings the player character to that location. 

The game exists within the world of the Byte Sized Heroes, a game I was once developing many years ago. This is a foundational revival of the project. Byte Sized Heroes will be built off of this engine, but will be much larger in form, a Console/PC game rather than it's mobile counterpart.
